"My Mom was in need of in-home care during medical treatments. We hoped she would be able to transition away from extra care, but we were looking for a company that could provide additional assistance if that became necessary. After interviewing several companies in the area, we selected CHC Services. Though we did our homework and only interviewed top notch companies (one of which charged us for the interview), CHCS stood out from the pack because of their extreme flexibility. Mom only needed help for a couple hours in the morning and evening and CHCS was willing to split the four hour shift into two-two hour shifts. Additionally, the same people were assigned to mom and so she was able to get to know them.

As time went on and we all settled into the new routine, we began to really appreciate the personal attention given to mom on each visit. Not only did we appreciate it, so did mom. She enjoyed the people who were her caregivers and got to know them. As it became apparent that mom would be needing more assistance, CHCS was able to add on time and services as that became necessary.

Even though I am a medical professional, I had no idea how to manage my husband's medical problems and rehabilitation needs following a severe stroke. I made one call to CHC Services when my husband was ready to come home, and we had a team of professional therapists (PT, OT and Speech) and Care Specialists, coordinated by a very capable, involved and reassuring Clinical Supervisor. The Care Specialists are delightful companions and mindful caregivers. In addition to assisting with personal and medical care, they help implement speech and physical therapy plans on a day-to-day basis. "My mom was suffering from severe anxiety and depression and we were at our wits end! Then, CHCS was referred to us. Within 2 hours, Lisa (nurse case manager) arrived at our door at 6:30 in the evening on a Friday night and she spent the entire evening with us gathering information and reviewing with us what CHCS could do. From that day on, Lisa has been a godsend.

We moved my mom into an Adult Family Home and that did not work out, but Lisa and the team at CHCS including Dr. Cantini helped us through these challenges and eventually my mom was hospitalized where we had been trying to place her, but were unsuccessful until CHCS facilitated the hospitalization. My mom has shown good improvement and now CHCS will be setting her up with recreational therapy and getting her out into the community. CHCS has been fantastic--answering phone calls and e-mails at all sorts of whacky hours of the night when we had concerns. We are hoping for more improvement in my mom and we know that CHCS will help us get there."
