Driver Rehabilitation Services for persons who have limitations related to physical disabilities and/or amputation.
Assessment:
- Safety and independence

- Coordination, reaction time
- Visual acuity and perception
- Cognition, sustained, alternating attention and
decision-making
Training:
- On-street instruction in use of adaptive techniques and driving equipment
- Preparation for licensing
Vehicle Selection and Custom Adaptation Prescription:
- Personally owned vehicles, modified with adaptive equipment
Final Fitting:
- On-street trials, re-assessment and advocacy for work with installer
Licensing:
- Assistance to prepare for the knowledge and driving test with the Dept of Licensing/renewal of license with restrictions of adaptive equipment

Selection of Equipment
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) factory installed- standard equipment use verses adaptive driving equipment
Adaptive Driving Equipment (designed to enable a person with a physical disability to operate a motor vehicle)
- Primary controls
- Rate of travel, steering, brake and acceleration
- Hand controls, low resistance/effort steering, horizontal column, steering devices, foot steering, emergency back up power supply
- Modification for foot pedals/left foot gas pedal
- Gear shift, extensions, power gear shift
- Secondary controls
- Mode A - operated while vehicle is moving (turn signals, wipers, head light hi/low, cruise control set, horn)
- Mode B - operate while vehicle in not in motion (ignition, start, gear shift)
- Mode C - operated while vehicle is stationary (cruise on/off, door locks, hazard lights, heat/air conditioning, park brake, mirrors, power seat, rear accessories, defogger, wiper)
- Ramp van entry or wheelchair lifts, loading devices for wheelchair
- Raised roofs, door openings
- Transfer seat bases
- Lockdowns/tie-downs, securement hardware for wheelchair
- Driver compartment, floor modifications, lowered
- Occupant restraints, seat belts, seating modification
